This film is a high melodrama, featuring one of the most beloved Shatner moments ever (see the page title). But, at the same time, it features some subtle and touching characterization, particularly from Leonard Nimoy's Spock. And the Kobayashi Maru is one of the greatest recurring themes in movie history."
Trivia: This movie is based on "Space Seed," an episode of the original Star Trek series that aired on NBC on February 16, 1967. In the episode, Spock says that Khan's rise to power led to the outbreak of Earth's World War III... in 1997!
