But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)
11:40 PM - 1:05 AM
Directed By Jamie Babbit
Starring Natasha Lyonne, Clea DuVall, and RuPaul (as a man!)

Jordan's Comment: "One of the funniest satires I have seen in years. Natasha Lyonne plays Megan Bloomfield, an all-American girl and cheerleader. Her parents suspect her of being a lesbian - because she listens to Melissa Etheridge and is uncomfortable with her boyfriend's sexual advances. So they send her off to True Directions, a boot camp to turn her straight, where the boys wear blue and the girls wear pink - quite literally. But halfway through the movie, the satire slows down and turns to a warm romantic drama, even if it is a romance between two women.
I hope this film will make you laugh hard and think hard."
Trivia: Mink Stole, who plays Megan's mother, is a regular cast member in films by Balitmore director John Waters. Waters directed Mink Stole in Pink Flamingos (1972). According to the MPAA (the movie rating agency), Pink Flamingos
is "Rated NC-17 for a wide range of perversions in explicit detail."
