Moose's Comment: "First, please understand that I am an obsessive trekkie. (Trekker? I don't care.) I watched the original Star Trek series nearly every day from age 6 to 14. The series's hopeful outlook on the future has been a major influence on my thinking.
Nemesis, the tenth Star Trek movie, was considered a critical and box office failure, but Squirrel and I saw it in December 2002 after one of Brandom's Film Festivals, and I actually like it. It's very cheesy in spots, but it's an interesting examination of personal identity, and Tom Hardy's Shinzon makes a convincing villain - flawed and sympathetic. Nemesis isn't perfect, but it's worth seeing."
Squirrel's Comment: "First, please understand that I am not an obsessive Trekkie. (Trekker? I don't care. They're all freaks.) I'm just marrying one. I have, however, developed a certain level of tolerance for Star Trek. Not all Star Trek is created equal, and some is harder to sit through than others. Nemesis is one of the easier films/episodes/whatever to sit through. At least it's not as bad as Wrath of Khan.
Oh, and whatever you do, don't tell the Moose a number between 1 and 79."
Trivia: The wine that the crew drinks
at the end of the movie is from Chateau Picard. This is a reference to the
Picard vineyard seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Episode
"Family".
