Bowling for Columbine (2002)

Orlando edition
2:50 PM - 4:50 PM

Directed By Michael Moore

Starring Michael Moore and lots of regular Americans and Canadians

Moose's Comment: "Michael Moore, in his style of entertaining self-promotion, tackles the question of why the United States has far, far more  gun deaths than any similar country. His conclusion rings true- we are a country gripped by a culture of violence and fear. Even if you don't like Moore (even ultra-liberal-Democrat me has problems with his shameless self-promotion), please come with an open mind and see what you make of his conclusions."

Squirrel's Comment: "I've wanted to see this movie since it was released. Despite the unfortunate rabbit scene, I liked Roger & Me. I don't always agree with Moore, being an only somewhat liberal independent, but it's interesting to see how he presents his point of view. And let's face it, the man can be entertaining. Moose and I were able to go to his public speaking engagement at the Hopkins campus this fall, and the long wait and massive crowds were worth it. Even when Moore infuriated me, he still entertained me, and made me think. Hopefully he'll manage the same for you."

Trivia: At the Cannes film festival, the movie received a standing ovation that lasted 13 minutes.
