Moose's Comment: "I'm a big fan of black comedy, and of director Alexander Payne. I saw About Schmidt with Squirrel in Orlando, and thought it was funny and sad. Jack Nicholson gives a subtle portrayal of an old man looking back on his life and losing hope, only to realize that he had hope all along, in a place he least expected it."

Squirrel's Comment: "I'm not a fan of Jack Nicholson. If you've seen one of his movies, especially those made in the last ten years, you've seen them all. He delivers his lines with the same growl, has the same twisted grin, and always seems to be sadistic, angry, or antisocial.

I loved Jack Nicholson in About Schmidt. His performance is much more low-key and personal, and infinitely more affecting and impressive. I actually managed to forget that I was watching Jack Nicholson, and let myself feel for his character. This movie made me laugh over and over, and I'm not ashamed to say that it also made me cry (because it probably will again at the JRM&SEFF). Definitely a movie to catch."

Trivia: The production crew created a lifetime Endowed Scholarship for the real-life Ndugu, Abdullah Mtulu, through the real Childreach organization.
