Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

11:55 AM - 1:30 PM

Directed by Stanley Kubrick

Starring Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, and Slim Pickens

Jordan's Comment:  "Stanley Kubrick's famous black comedy does something that must have been impossible in 1964 - it gets its audience to laugh at the prospect of nuclear annihilation. It's a hysterical, twisted movie. You'll wonder how you could possibly be laughing, but you'll find that you can't stop. And if General Turgidson starts reminding you of Donald Rumsfeld, just repeat to yourself... 'it's only a movie...'"

Trivia: When Peter Sellers backed out of the role of Major Kong (what would have been his fourth role in the film), Kubrick hired Western actor Slim Pickens as a last-minute replacement. Kubrick never told Pickens he was making a comedy."
