The Film Festival Experience

How to get the most out of your day

First of all, if you have even clicked upon this link might I compliment you on your clear commitment to enjoying the full experience of the Jordan Raddick Film Festival.

That having been said, here are a few suggestions to both heighten your own filmic experience, and heighten the amount of pleasure derived by your fellow cinephiles:

1) Understand that I don't expect anyone to attend the entire film festival, as accomodating 20.4 hours of movies in your lives would be entirely impractical.  I only ask that you - at the very least - consider dropping by for at least one movie.  You will have fulfilled all my hopes and expectations if you do so.

2) Although I will make every effort to remain on schedule, you should be advised that movie times are APPROXIMATE.  This means that, if we are scheduled to run a movie from 3:00pm - 4:45pm, the movie will begin - at the very earliest - at 3:00pm, not before.  The schedule has been organized so that there will be ample time for the movies to finish and preparations might be made for the next film, while the audience enjoys watching a good game of Australian Rules football.

3) Please keep non-movie discussion to a minimum during the showing of the films. Of course, several of the films (I don't really have to point out which ones, do I?) are intended for the MST3K/ Matt's B-movie-night treatment, and for these special few witty banter is most appreciated. But for all others, please be quiet out of courtesy for your fellow filmgoers.

4) A variety of refreshing adult beverages will be provided for your enjoyment. No one will be under any pressure to consume these, and refereshing all-ages beverages will be provided as well. Should you choose to consume the adult beverages, please do so in moderation.

5)Anyone who wishes is invited to spend the wee hours of Sunday morning asleep on a piece of my ample floor space. Indeed, if you drive to the festival and plan to consume refreshing adult beverages during the last few films, you will be politely required to spend the night.

6)  If you are planning on attending for a while, I suggest that you bring one or more of the following: blanket, pillow, sleeping bag, water bottle, snacks, drinks.

7) If you plan to attend, even for a small part of one film, please RSVP so I can include you on my celebrities page.

8)  It's a cliche, but HAVE A GOOD TIME.  That's the purpose of the film festival.
